Sometimes we just need a few more resources to do what needs to be done. Church-wide fundraising activities serve the dual purpose of raising money for needed projects or the budget AND provide an opportunity for our church family to work together and have some real fun! All are invited to participate in these wonderful events that mean so much to so many!
The Rummage Sale – held the first weekend in August, the CUMC Rummage Sale is a HUGE event that fills most of our church. Designed as one part fellowship event, one part community service and one part fund-raiser, the Rummage Sale is well-known as a place where members of the area

who need to pinch their pennies can clothe their kids for very little, and everyone can find treasures they didn’t know they needed! Donations are accepted throughout the year. Over 90 persons helped with the sale in 2019 and plans are under way for an even bigger event in 2020. Apple Muffin Sale at the Central Square Apple Festival – a dedicated team of cooks work all week preparing official NYS apple muffins for sale at the yearly Central Square Apple Festival in October each year. Then the tables go up and fun begins as the muffins begin to disappear along with coffee, water and other snacks. Jan Cerimeli or Deb Irwin can give more information and enlist your help through the church office.
Homespun Treasures– crafters from the church work all year making their very best offerings for this November event. Hundreds of items fill the church halls and open spaces for two days and
then again in the holiday season! Myriad jams, jellies, wreaths, jewelry, wooden toys, ceramics, clothes and other handicrafts are available. Jan Cerimeli is in charge and happy to hear from you – contact Jan or the church office!
Chicken BBQs – the United Methodist Men run several Chicken BBQ’s either on their own or in conjunction with other events such as the Rummage Sale. These delicious meals sell out quickly so watch your calendar and place your order or get there early! Check the calendar or web site often for the next date!
