Administrative Council
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant. Matthew 20:26
The Administrative Council guides the church through prayer, actions and stewardship as defined by the United Methodist Church Book of Discipline. Consisting of leaders of the various departments and ministry groups, the Ad Council meets quarterly to prayerfully and spiritually make decisions that impact the church staff, facility and programs. The major administrative committees include:
Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) – the human resources part of the church, dealing with issues of hiring, oversight, discipline and arbitration when there are differences of opinion.
Finance – setting a budget, finding the money, advising the Ad Council as to the fiscal status of the church.
Trustees – all things relating to the church facility including the church, parsonage, grounds and parking lots.
Worship – helping make the Word come alive including decorations, banners, arranging for special events, ushering, communion and working with the pastor making Sundays special. Call Deb Irwin for more information.
Education – giving guidance to the Education program including Sunday School, Youth programs, Adult Education and special events. For more information contact Mike Irwin.
Evangelism – reaching out internally and externally to spread God’s Word through membership classes and Bible studies.
Memorials – special gifts to the church in the name of a loved one or specific purpose can be made. These resources are overseen by the Memorials Committee which provide accountability and distribution. Priorities are given to purchase items that have a long life within the church. Contact Joan Kesel or the church office for more information.
Technology – a team of skilled church members who ensure that phones, computers, wireless service, sound and the church web site all work and then create solutions when needed. Contact Tim Gregory to learn more or volunteer your time and expertise!
