A Season of Prayer - Introduction

During Lent, 2014, the members of the Cicero United Methodist Church will be using the booklet, "A Season of Prayer" to guide their prayer life.  The booklet was prepared by the Vision Prayer and Discipleship Teams and is being handed out at our Sunday services.  The booklet is available here as a PDF file A Season of Prayer or you can go to Programs/Discipleship on the menu to see the text.

A Season of Prayer

During the 40 days of Lent, members of the Cicero United Methodist Church will participate in a "Season of Prayer".  The Vision Prayer and Discipleship Teams have prepared a booklet to guide participants in their prayer life during this time.  The booklets have been made available to all.  The booklet is available as a PDF file and is also presented below.

A Season of Prayer (PDF)

 Introduction
Following Paul Nixon’s recommendation, our Ad Council has set aside a period of time (Lent, 2014) for a prayerful consideration of the vision and mission of our church.
We decided that it would benefit our whole church if we were reading the same scripture and praying together each day of our 40 days of prayer. So the Vision Prayer Team worked together with the Discipleship Team and the Pastors to create this book- let, outline a sermon series, and design bible studies around continuing to listen to God as we discern the direction of minis- try for the years ahead.
